Family Counselling Centre (FCC)

Sponsored by the Central Social Welfare Board the FCC is engaged in intensive work with families which have found it difficult to deal with their problems. The trained counsellors provide professional services to help individuals and families with broken or strained marital relationships; parent-child relationships or other intra-family or even neighbourhood relationships. The causes may be traced to alcoholism, extra-marital affaris, lack of or breakdown of social and/or economic support networks, faulty communication patterns, negative attitueds, inadequate information, poor legal literacy etc.

The FCC not only helps the clients to deal with their problems, it also reaches out to vulnerable groups and areas to identify problems at an early stage. It also takes up programmes to promote stronger family ties and healthy relationships herwith families. The break up of cases handled by the FCC in the last one/two/three years is as follows.
