School for Orthopaedically Handicapped Children

"Snehangan" School for Orthopaedically handicapped started in 1981. This school offers facilities to physically challenged children for operation, post operative exercises along with well equipped hospital and residential school, having classes from 1st to 10th std. Physically handicapped and economically backward are the only two parameters for school admission. The school is having recognition for 50 resident students and 15 studentís day scholars and also gets grant in aid from state social welfare department Govt, of Maharashtra for 50 students. Honorary teachers also do contribute in this school. Boys in age group 6 to 14 and girls in age group of 6 to 18, total 75 are taking advantage. Here expertís advice for treatment, exercise along with calipers is available. Along with formal education the students are trained in music, tabla, harmonium, computer, tailoring, embroidery, knitting etc. After assessing studentís special interests the special training is given rehabilitate them and make them financially independent.
